D2B is redesigning the way we approach sustianability.
We embrace ethical practices and sustainable brands as the future of the industry. We know that such practices, no matter how small they begin, create a kinder, more transparent and more caring industry.
While we know that being 100% sustainable is challenging, we dedicate ourselves to brands that strive to uphold ethical and sustainable practices in their design and production processes.
We are committed to growing the awareness of sustianability. We support brands that understand their human and environmental footprint, and we seek to inspire every person, shop or brand who take responsibility for the future of our world.
We Believe In:
The common thing among all the different re-used items is that at least one part of their materials was previously used in another commodity, in one form or another. There are many variations within this framework, such as upcycling, recycling and finding new uses for materials regarded as waste.
The manufacturing of Eco-Friendly Materials, from their production to their dyeing, has minimal negative environmental effects. In this category, you could find unique materials including linen, hemp, Lyocell and soy fibre, as well as peace silk, cotton and other traditional materials manufactured in a non-traditional way.
Organic materials are natural textiles that are grown without any genetical modification to the crops, and with no use of fertilizers or pesticides that harm the soil. The most popular form is organic cotton.
Local production brands produce their products where they live – without exporting to or importing from developing countries without working rights. Local production is more transparent and more environmental, and instead of exploiting people in sweatshops, it strengthens local artisans and communities.
Vegan products acknowledges and respects all living organisms. Without leather, fur or feathers, it is full of ecological awareness.
Brands who fit our Profits Donation criteria are committed to allocating a permanent amount of their profits to social purposes. D2B itself fall to this category – 5% of our annual profits go to causes decided every year by our global community of users.
Respectful and Secure Work Conditions
Adhering to Respectful and Secure Work Conditions means that no abusive practices are used in the production of your products. Respectful work environments express an obligation to human dignity and working rights.
Supply Chain Traceability
Supply Chain Traceability means that all the different stages of production are known to the brand and visible to buyers – from the early stages of the fibre production to the origin of each pin and button. In other words, traceability means maximal transparency of production.
Unlike production-based terms, Circular production refers not to the item’s past, but to its future. Circular production brands collect products after their use and manufacture them in a way that prepares them for reuse and recycling practices.
